How Trackivo handles your personal and financial information.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Trackivo ("we", "us") handles information when you use our website and application. It is maintained by the Trackivo team and is written in plain language wherever possible.
This document is provided as a starting template and should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before you rely on it commercially.
2. Information we collect
Account information: the email address and display name you provide when registering.
Financial records you create: accounts, transactions, categories, people in the Money Owed module and recurring templates. This data is entered by you; Trackivo does not connect to your bank.
Preferences: theme, currency, number and date formatting and similar settings.
Technical data: limited log information such as timestamps and error reports needed to operate the service securely.
3. How we use information
To provide the service: authenticating you, storing your records and calculating balances and reports.
To maintain security and integrity, including detecting abuse and diagnosing faults.
To communicate essential service messages such as account or security notices.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your financial records for advertising.
4. Legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on the performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interest in operating a secure service, and your consent where consent is requested.
5. Data storage and security
Your records are stored in a managed database with access controls applied per user, so records can only be read or modified by the account that owns them.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored using the encryption provided by our infrastructure provider.
No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
6. Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your data or your account from Settings, associated records are removed from the live database, with residual copies expiring from routine backups.
7. Sharing and processors
We share data only with infrastructure providers who process it on our behalf to host the application and database, and where required by law.
8. Your rights
Subject to your local law, you may request access to, correction of, export of or deletion of your personal data. Export and deletion tools are available directly in the application's Settings.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember interface preferences such as theme. We do not use advertising cookies.
10. Children
Trackivo is not directed to children and is not intended for use by them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page.
